Accepting Clients for In-Person Sessions in Downtown Orlando and Virtual Sessions Throughout Florida
Are you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or stuck in patterns shaped by past experiences? It’s normal to experience these phases in life, and you don’t have to go through it alone. Starting therapy takes courage, and Ale welcomes the vulnerability it takes to choose yourself and begin this work.
Alejandra (Ale) Rios is our lead Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) who offers relational, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive therapy to adolescents/teens, young adults, parents, and couples. She believes that meaningful change begins when clients feel seen, heard, and valued within a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust and safety. Ale views therapy as a collaborative process, one where clients are the experts of their own lives. Their choices, values, and goals guide the work, and sessions move at a pace that feels safe and respectful to each client. She strives to empower her clients to explore their unique identities, heal from unresolved trauma, and move forward with clarity and confidence. Her style is warm and compassionate, and gently direct when it is helpful.
Ale earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master’s Degree in Counselor Education, with specialized coursework in Play Therapy, from the University of Central Florida. She completed her clinical rotations at the Orlando Health Team Member Assistance Program (TMAP), where she gained experience working with children, teens, adults, and couples navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and identity exploration.
Ale utilizes an integrative approach, tailoring evidence-based interventions to support each client’s unique goals and needs. Her work draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Play-Based Interventions. Ale works through an intersectional and culturally responsive lens, grounded in authenticity, collaboration, curiosity, reflection, and autonomy. She understands individuals are shaped by the many systems they’re a part of, including family, community, culture, and beyond. She supports clients in exploring how these influences impact their well-being and guides them in identifying meaningful paths forward. In addition, Ale also provides LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodivergent-affirming therapy.
Drawing from her personal and professional experiences, Ale aims to increase access to psychotherapy for vulnerable, marginalized, and diverse communities, and is committed to social justice and advocacy. She is mindful of how language, culture, and identity shapes emotional expression and healing. Therapy with Ale is a space where your identity is respected, valued, and celebrated. Clients are encouraged to show up to therapy as their full, authentic selves, without the need to explain or justify who they are. Ale offers sessions in both English and Spanish, and clients are welcome to move between languages in session if that feels most authentic.
As a pre-licensed therapist, Ale practices under the supervision of Judith Allen, DSW, LCSW, and is committed to ongoing training, consultation, and ethical practice to ensure high-quality, compassionate care.
If you’re looking for a warm, compassionate, and trauma-informed therapist who honors your identity and welcomes you just as you are, reach out today and see if you and Ale are a good fit.

Some of Ale’s specialties
Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Trauma Therapy
Many of us never think about the fact that children, teens, and young adults suffer from anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma just like adults do. Many times these issues are initially misunderstood and either ignored or treated as a discipline or a motivation problem. If ignored and untreated these issues can have lasting effects on a child's, teen’s, or adult’s life. This is especially sad since anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma are very treatable issues when recognized.
Marriage, Couples and Family Counseling
Some couples and families require minor adjustments to get back on their feet, while others need a major overhaul to save their relationship, marriage, or family. Some couples or families come to counseling to prevent problems from occurring in the future, and some come to solve current problems or heal from past relationship wounds.
Young Adult and Adolescent Therapy
“Some adolescents/teenagers have minor issues and just need a little assistance to get back on their feet and back on track. Whereas some adolescents/teenagers or young adults have very serious issues such as teenage depression, eating disorders, trauma, self-harm, substance abuse, and many more serious problems that need more significant interventions. Some teens or young adults go to counseling to prevent problems from occurring in the future, and some come to solve current problems or heal from past wounds.
