Some of Amanda’s Specialties
Anxiety, Depression, Trauma and Grief Counseling
Now more than ever, we are seeing a rise in the number of children and teens struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. Parents, guardians, and schoolteachers may notice withdrawal, peer struggles, changes in eating or sleep habits, and changes in academic success. It is important to acknowledge and address these concerns to aid in the management of symptoms and promote personal success.
Young Adult and Adolescent Therapy
Having a teenager in the home or being a teenager/young adult can be an incredibly challenging part of development. Some teens/young adults can have minor issues including difficulty with peers, lack of motivation/direction, and impulsiveness while others may have more serious concerns such as violence, substance use and a history of trauma. Outpatient therapy can offer opportunities for teens/young adults to find direction and support to help solve current concerns or prepare themselves for the next chapter in their future.
ADHD for Children, Teens and Adults
ADHD is a common child/adolescent diagnosis characterized by impulsivity, difficulty with concentration/motivation, and emotional dysregulation. It was once also understood as a childhood diagnosis that “people grew out of.” Extensive research now shows ADHD symptoms and struggles continue across the lifespan and was often misdiagnosed or undiagnosed for many adults. Proper assessment/evaluation, along with therapy treatment to address concerns can help the person feel more in control and effective at managing symptoms and addressing concerns.
